texas pecan pie

This recipe comes from my sister Jackie. It has been a family favorite for years. It is GREAT and 'EASY as PIE'!

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup karo syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch all purpose flour
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup halved, shelled pecans
  • 1 large deep-dish pie shell

How To Make texas pecan pie

  • Step 1
    PREHEAT: Oven to 350 degrees F. BUTTER: Rim of pie shell. SPREAD: Pecans in bottom of pie shell. MIX: All other ingredients in medium sized mixing bowl including leftover butter from buttering rim of pie shell. POUR: Mixture over pecans in pie shell. BAKE: In 350 degree F oven until done. (Done when center of pie doesn't jiggle). COOKING TIMES: Vary with different ovens, but approx. 40-45 minutes. COOL: Completely until set and firm. TO SERVE: Cut into 6 to 8 equal pieces.
