Ingredients

  • 3/4 c
    and 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2
    flour
  • 2 c
    hot milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    cold milk
  • 2
    egg yolk
  • 1 c
    pecans, in pieces
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2
    egg whites
  • 1
    pie shell, baked

How to Make Pecan Creme Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. mix 3/4 cups sugar,flour,salt and cold milk.
  2. stir until smooth.
  3. add to hot milk,stir constantly until thick.
  4. add the beaten egg yolks,pecans and vanilla.
  5. stir until well mixed.(do not let come to a boil !)
  6. pour into baked pie shell and set aside.
  7. beat egg whites until stiff. mix in 2 tablespoon sugar and dash of vanilla,stir until mixed.
  8. top pie with mixture,leaving small peaks.
  9. bake at 400* until top turns light golden brown.
  10. remove and set aside to cool.
