pear crunch pie
Not sure why, but we didn't eat fresh pears at my house when I was growing up. When I went on a diet, I started eating more fresh fruit, and found I really enjoy pears!

Ingredients
- 6 medium ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest, grated
- 1 - unbaked 10-inch pastry shell
- 1 cup all=purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
How To Make pear crunch pie

Step 1Combine pears and lemon juice in a large bowl; toss gently. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, and lemon rind; toss well. Arrange the pear mixture in the pastry shell. Set aside.

Step 2Combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl; stir well. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in the chopped pecans; sprinkle the pecan mixture evenly over the pear mixture.

Step 3Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until the pears are tender and the crust is a golden brown.
