Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half cream
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (use a good brand)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - 8-9 inch pastry pie shell, baked or use a store bought chocolate or graham cracker cookie crust
  • - whipped topping
  • - chocolate sprinkles, chopped nuts, or a dusting of cocoa for garnish

How To Make peanut butter pie

  • Step 1
In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Using a whisk, gradually stir in milk and cream. Whisk well to avoid lumps in pudding. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook and stir for 4-5 minutes after boiling begins. Do not allow pudding to burn. You must stir constantly.
  • Step 2
Remove from the heat. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Pour into prepared pie crust. Top with whipped cream. Garnish with chopped peanuts, chocolate sprinkles, or a light sprinkle of cocoa if desired.
