pasadena cafeteria's chess pie
(1 RATING)
Many years ago I was happy to see this recipe printed in the local paper since the restaurant that served it was out of business. It was one of my favorite desserts at the Pasadena Cafeteria. The slightly lemon flavor and walnuts make this pie deliscious! The strange amounts may be because the recipe was scaled down for one pie. I sometimes use all purpose flour instead of the cake flour,I've also used 7/8 c milk instead of the milk powder.Omit the hot water and the pie comes out fine.
