In my effort to find an orange Dream Whip pie for my sister that didn't have cream cheese in it, I came up with this. You could change pineapple pudding for vanilla, drain the pineapple dry and fold into the pie for a more tropical taste. They loved it! I hope you will too. It is cool and creamy. Just right for a light summer dessert.

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
Yum with a capital Y! This pie reminds me of the orange/vanilla ice cream treat I loved as a kid. The Dream Whip makes the pie airy and creamy. Super simple, this is a perfect dessert when you're looking for something light and fruity.

Ingredients

1 can(s)
mandarin oranges; 8.5 oz.
1 pkg
orange gelatin; 3 oz.
1 pkg
vanilla instant pudding; 3.4 oz.
2 c
milk
2 pkg
Dream Whip
1 tsp
vanilla
1
graham cracker pie crust

How to Make Orange Dream Whip Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Drain juice from oranges. You will need 3/4 cup of liquid; add enough water to measure that. Bring liquid to a boil and stir in gelatin until dissolved. Set aside to cool.
  • 2Mix 2 envelopes of Dream Whip with 1 cup of the milk and beat for 6 minutes or until stiff peaks hold.
  • 3Be sure that the gelatin is cool and beat into Dream Whip mixture.
  • 4Add remaining cup of milk to the pudding and beat for 2 minutes. Then fold into the Dream Whip mixture.
  • 5Pour into graham cracker crust and let it chill for 4 hours or overnight.
