In the Civil War. Pecans were in short supply. The substitution for pecans became oats. The smell coming from your oven will make you drool!

Ingredients

  • 1 - pie crust, unbaked
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, i used heaping
  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup melted margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla, i just splashed in, i didnt measure
  • 1 cup oatmeal, i used the old fashioned kind

How To Make oatmeal pie, my way

  • Step 1
    Oven to 350 degrees. Beat eggs until well combined. Add corn syrup and slightly cooled margarine (so you don't cook the eggs) and blend well. Add combined remaining dry ingredients but oats. Mix well, then add in oats. Mix then pour into crust. Bake 45 minutes.
