Oatmeal Pie, An Amish Recipe
Since this tastes almost like pecan pie (which I love!) and I am now allergic to nuts I have used this recipe almost yearly, especially for the holidays.
Its well worth trying!
1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed
2 largeeggs, beaten
1 tspvanilla extract
3/4 clight corn syrup
1/2 cunsweetened coconut
3/4 cquick oats, not cooked, use dry
1unbaked pie crust, 9 inches
How to Make Oatmeal Pie, An Amish Recipe
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt butter. Mix with sugar in a medium mixing bowl. Add beaten eggs, salt, and vanilla. Add remaining ingredients (except pie shell) in order listed. Mix well.
Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes.
