This recipe was given to my Mom when they lived on the Naval Base in Neveda by Emma Moore. My mom insists that you cannot fail to make a good crust with this recipe. Which is true I guess since my crusts are always good it's the innards of the pie that have issues...LOL...

yield makes 3 9" double pie crusts

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 3/4 cups crisco shortening
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water

How To Make no fail pie crust. or so my mom promises me...

  • Step 1
    Blend together the flour, shortening, salt, and sugar.
  • Step 2
    In separate bowl beat together the egg, vinegar, and water.
  • Step 3
    Pour egg mixture into the flour mixture and stir with a fork until dough ball forms. Put into covered bowl and chill in fridge. Use as needed.
