We went apple picking this weekend and I had to make one of these. Enjoy!

prep time 15 Min
cook time 50 Min
method Bake
yield 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 12 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon allspice, ground
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 stick butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 - double pie crusts, for top and bottom of pie
  • - mixture of cinnamon/sugar to sprinkle on top of pie

How To Make my apple pie

  • Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350. In a large bowl prep your apples and then pour lemon juice over them. I mix the rest of the ingredients in a separate bowl and with a pastry blender I blend the mixture until butter is mixed in well.
  • Step 2
Pour this mixture in to your apples and blend well. Pour and pack the apples into a pie crust lined 9 inch pie plate. Place 2nd pie crust over apples and make slits in the crust to let steam release while cooking. Sprinkle a little cinnamon/sugar mixture over top crust.(optional)
  • Step 3
Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes or until golden and apples tender. Remove and let it rest to cool, then enjoy.
