Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup sugar
- 2-1/2 can whole milk or 1 can canned milk remaining with regular milk
- 4 - egg yolks - save whites if you're making meringue
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla (i use real vanilla)
- 4 tablespoons butter
How To Make mother's homemade chocolate pie

Step 1In large kettle mix cocoa, sugar, salt and flour and whisk together.

Step 2In separate bowl whisk together egg yolks and milk. Add egg/milk mixture to your kettle and put on stove over medium heat.

Step 3Bring mixture to a boil whisking "constantly" and continue to cook, while whisking, until thickens and bubbly all over. Take off the burner and stir in butter and vanilla.

Step 4Once the butter has melted your chocolate pudding is ready to put into your crust. You can then top with meringue or cool and cover with whipped cream.
