Ingredients
- 1 pound sweet potatoes, peeled, diced & cooked
- 3 - eggs
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 dash allspice, ground
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 - pie crust shell
- TOPPING:
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon molasses
How To Make *** mom's sweet potato pie ***

Step 1Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Step 2Pare sweet potatoes & dice. Cook, covered, boiling salt water, 15 minutes or until tender. Drain. Mash until smooth.

Step 3Beat eggs, stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, pepper, allspice, sweet potatoes, milk; mix well. Pour into shell. Bake 5 minutes, reduce heat to 325 degrees F. & bake 40 minutes.

Step 4Mix whipping cream & molasses; beat until stiff. Spoon on cooled pie.
