This was my mom's recipe for a single crust. Use for any pies requiring a crust. Double if needed.

Follow pie recipe for cook time
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons heaping tablespoons confectioners sugar
How To Make mom's pie crust (single crust)

Step 1Mix all ingredients until crumbly - add water until able to roll out. Do not make too sticky or it will not roll out easily.

Step 2Mom used bacon grease for a very flaky crust that tasted like heaven, instead of shortening.

Step 3This is a single crust. Double recipe to make the top and bottom of a apple pie crust. This crust is the best. Follow pie recipe for the length of time in oven and temperature.
