the molasses add's a nice change to pumpkin pie . Some years ago I was wanting to make a pie and didn't have all the ingredients, so I though I would try something a little different. I ended up with this pie, and it turned out so good that the family ate it all that night.

Ingredients

  • 1 - ready made pie pastry or home made pastry shell with a high crimped edge.
  • 1 can 16oz, pumpkin or 2 cups mashd cooked pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup dark molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

How To Make molasses pumpkin pie

  • Step 1
    combine all ingredients in a bowl, beat mixture until well blended.
  • Step 2
    pour into an unbaked pie shell , bake at 400 for 50-55 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  • Step 3
    let cool completely .
