My kids don't like nuts, but love the inside of a pecan pie. I found this receipt in Southern Food and it has become a big hit with everyone. I now make a REAL pecan pie and a MOCK one.

Ingredients For mock pecan pie

  • 2
    eggs
  • 2/3 c
    margarine/butter, melted
  • 2/3 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2/3 c
    light corn syrup
  • 2/3 c
    regular rolled oats
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1
    unbaked 9-inch pie crust (i use a deep dish, forzen pie crust)

How To Make mock pecan pie

    Combine the eggs, margarine, sugar, corn syrup, oats, salt and vanilla in a bowl. Mix well.

    Pour into unbaked pie crust and bake for 1 hour at 350. You may want to put the pie on a cookie sheet to catch any over flow
