mock apple pie
This is a pie to make when you don't have apples but you have everything else. It is actually pretty good. You can also make it in a bar pan to make slices, just drizzle a little icing over the top. This is a very old recipe of my great grandmother Sullivan who had 15 children... She knew how to feed them and keep them happy... Explore... And Play With Your Food! XO

Ingredients
- 1 can (16-ounces) applesauce
- 1 - sleeve of crackers broken up
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1 large lemon (juice and zest)
- 1/3 cup water
How To Make mock apple pie

Step 1Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes.

Step 2Pour the apple mixture into an unbaked pie shell. Dot the top with butter (about a half a stick). Put a top crust on. Make slits in top for steam to escape.

Step 3Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 35 minutes. Or until bubbly and golden brown. Be watchful so it doesn't burn.
