Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cocoa, unsweetened
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 pound ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped candied cherries
  • 1/2 cup chopped candied lemon rind
  • 1/4 cup chopped toasted almonds
  • 1 ounce semi-sweet chocolate, grated
  • 1/3 cup rum
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup whipping cream

How To Make mocha raisin torte

  • Step 1
    Combine cream and cocoa, Let stand 2 hours. Prepare cake mix per package directions for 9-inch layers. Cool completely.
  • Step 2
    Beat cheese, sugar, and milk. Add raisins, cherries, lemon rind, nuts, and chocolate; mix well.
  • Step 3
    Split each cake layer into two layers; sprinkle surface with rum. Fill between layers with the cheese filling. Top with final layer.
  • Step 4
    Whip the mocha cream, gradually adding confectioners sugar. Spread on top of torte only.
