Miss Becky's Blueberry Beauty

This is my home-made blueberry pie, full of fresh blueberries. I combined a number of different recipes and then added a few of my own ingredients (although i keep those special extras to myself). I did not make the pie crust since i was crunched on time, so i used the BEST pie crust: Marie Callender frozen pie crust...however we all know there is nothing like a homemade crust. I recommend also trying it with a graham cracker crust! The key is BIG, FRESH, JUICY blueberries! Serve with some ICE COLD watermelon and you've got some satisfied southerners'.

How to Make Miss Becky's Blueberry Beauty

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Brush crust with egg yolk.
  2. combine 2/3 cup sugar (although i do a full cup since my family likes their pie sweet), cornstarch, cinnamon, and allspice in a bowl.
  3. add lemon juice and water to dry ingredients and mix (will be crumbly).
  4. Wash and dry blueberries and throw them into the pie crust (dont worry if it looks too full, they will all mesh together).
  5. pour the liquid ingredients over the blueberries.
  6. in a small bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar, melted butter, and a dash of cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over blueberries.
  7. bake 50-60 minutes. Enjoy! Serve with ice cold watermelon and you've got some satisfied southerners!
