michigan cream cheese dessert
This is a recipe that my Mom made frequently during the 1950's. She made it for Sunday suppers at Grandma's and there were never any leftovers. Picture shows Michigan Dessert with strawberries

Ingredients
- CRUST:
- 1 1/2 cups crushed graham crackers
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 pound melted butter
- FILLING:
- 2 - (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- TOPPING:
- 1 pint sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons sugar
How To Make michigan cream cheese dessert

Step 1Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter. Make the crust by pressing mixture into bottom of 9 inch pie pan, lining bottom and sides of pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees and cool.

Step 2Mix together filling ingredients, pour mixture into pie shell and bake at 350 degrees, exactly 20 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

Step 3Make topping by stirring together topping ingredients. When dessert has cooled spread sour cream topping on it and bake at 350 for 5 minutes more.

Step 4Can be served as is or with fresh fruit such as sweetened strawberries, blueberries, or cherries. Or top it with your favorite pie filling.
