This pie is very good. No...it does not taste like mashed potatoes. It has a custard pie taste. I usually use Pillsbury store bought crust instead of making one. What a delicious way to use up those extra mashed potatoes. This recipe came from one of my dearest friend and grandmother.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed potatoes (extra from when you have them from dinner)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 - pie crust store bought or make your own

How To Make mashed potato pie

  • Step 1
    Directions: Mix together all ingredients in a blender and pour into a deep pie crust. Sprinkle a little nutmeg on top of pie before baking.
  • Step 2
    Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until firm.
