Ingredients
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 cups thinly sliced and peeled apples (about 5 medium)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded white cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon whipping cream (in carton)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/4 cup toasted chopped pecans
How To Make maple, apple and cheddar pie
-
Step 1In a large bowl combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Add apples; toss gently to coat. Add cheese and the 1/4 cup maple syrup; toss gently to combine.
-
Step 2Transfer filling to pastry-lined 9" pie pan. Drizzle with the whipping cream. Add the top crust and crimp edges. Cover edges with foil to prevent over-browning.
-
Step 3Bake in a pre-heated 375-degree oven for 40 minutes. Remove foil. Bake 20 minutes longer or until apples are tender and pastry is golden brown.
-
Step 4Transfer pie to a wire rack. Brush top with the 2 Tbsp. maple syrup and sprinkle with pecans. Cool for 1 hour. Serve slightly warm
