maple and walnut sweet potato pie

I made this a year ago , I always share my food with a elderly couple across the street they love to get homemade desserts, he is 90 his wife 88 it was one of his favorites . Baked it a few days ago decided to share it here.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed graham crackers
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • FILLING
  • 2 cups sweet potatoes canned
  • 1/4 cup instant vanilla pudding
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can whipped cream

How To Make maple and walnut sweet potato pie

  • Step 1
    preheat oven 350 degrees
  • Step 2
    mix all the ingredients for crust, pat into bottom and up sides of a deep dish 9in. GLASS pie plate .
  • Step 3
    Bake 6 minutes, remove spread nuts on bottom ,cool completely.
  • Step 4
    Mix all filling ingredients on medium speed until well blended. Gently pour into pie crust ,bake 50 -60 minutes UNTILL SET. COOL COMPLETELY REFRIGERATE SERVE WITH WHIPPED CREAM
