Ingredients

  • 5 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1 large
    egg
  • 1 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1 c
    water when added to egg and vinegar to measure 1 cup total

How to Make MAMA'S PIE CRUST

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut shortening into flour, salt and baking powder. Mix until crumbly and about the size of a pea. Pour water, vinegar and egg into mixture. Mix. chill and let rest before rolling out for pie crusts.
  2. Brush top of crust with 1 egg and 2 T of water whipped with fork.
  3. Bake at 420* for 30 minutes. or time for pie to cook. shells bake about 10 minutes, watch. xoxo
