Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar, light
  • 7 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 pints whipped cream
  • 1 - heath bar, crushed
  • 1 - 9 inch baked pie shell

How To Make make ahead caramel cream pie

  • Step 1
    combine brown sugar, flour, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan.
  • Step 2
    in a bowl, combine beaten eggs and milk. add to dry ingredients and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  • Step 3
    remove from heat and add butter and vanilla, beating until smooth. let cool.
  • Step 4
    beat whipping cream until peaks form.
  • Step 5
    stir 2/3 of whipped cream into cooked mixture.
  • Step 6
    spread remaining cream over pie. sprinkle crushed heath bar over top and refrigerate for 24 hours.
