Apples and coconut. Yum!!

CUP OF BROWN SUGAR TO THE FILLING

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
flour
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 c
crisco....i usually use buttered flavored
2-3 Tbsp
butter

FILLING

4 c
sliced peeled apples
1/2 c
sugar
1/4-1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon

TOPPING

1/2 c
flour
1/2 c
sugar
1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/4 tsp
salt
1 large
egg
2 Tbsp
butter or margarine..melted
1/2 tsp
vanilla
1/4 c
coconut

Step-By-Step

1In a bowl,combine flour and salt;cut in shortening until crumbly.
Gradually add cold water,tossing with a fork until a ball forms.
Roll out pastry to fit a 9 inch pie plate. flute edges.
2Toss apples with sugar and cinnamon;pour into crust.
Bake in a preheated oven 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
3Meanwhile, combine the 1st 4 topping ingredients in a bowl.
Stir in egg,butter and vanilla until smooth.
Add coconut.
Spoon over hot apples, carefully spreading to cover.
Bake 30 minutes longer or until apples are tender.
