A neighbor gentleman gave me this recipe many years ago, and it is family favorited, tastes great and easy to make.

  • 3
    egg yolks (hold whites off to side)
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1/4 c
    fresh lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter (or margarine)
  • 3
    egg whites
  • 1
    unbaked pie shell

How to Make Lemon Custard Pie


  1. Beat egg yolks
  2. Add: sugar, lemon juice, flour and butter, stirring to blend
  3. Beat egg whites till stiff, then fold into lemon mixture
  4. Pour into unbaked pie crust (8 inch deep dish pie plate)
  5. Bake slowly, 350 degrees, until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Check at 45 min...and keep checking every 10 min, till done. (each oven varies)
