Very simple,southern favorite.
I like lemons,so I adapted it with extra lemon juice cause it perks up your mouth. :)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon zest, grated
  • 4 large
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    lemon juice, fresh
  • 1 stick
    butter, melted and cooled
  • 1
    unbaked pie crust

How to Make Lemon Chess Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    In a large mixing bowl,combine the sugar,cornstarch and lemon zest.Whick in the eggs,1 at a time.Stir in the lemon juice and butter and blend thoroughly
  2. Pour the egg mixture into the pie shell and bake until the top is lightly browned and the center sets,20-25 minutes.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.

    Slice and serve.
