Ingredients

  • 1
    9 inch deep-dish pie crust, unbaked
  • 3
    eggs, separated
  • 2 Tbsp
    grated lemon peel
  • 2/3 c
    lemon juice
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/3 c
    all-purpose flour (do not use self-rising flour)

How to Make Lemon Cake Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Beat egg whites in large mixer bowl until stiff peaks form; reserve. Beat egg yolks; beat in lemon peel, lemon juice and milk. Add sugar and flour and beat until smooth. Beat lemon mixture into egg whites on low speed of mixer until blended, about one minute.
  3. Pour into pie crust. Bake until golden brown, 45 - 50 minutes. May be served with whipped cream.
