How to Make Laura's Apple Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 425. In a large bowl combine apples, sugar,2tbsp of flour, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Stir trying not to breakup apples. Add about 1/4 cup of beer to apple mixture and let sit.
  2. Topping...cube cold butter and add to mixing bowl. Add brown sugar, 1/2 cup of flour, and uncooked oats. Blend with pastry blender until resembles small peas.
  3. Add apple filling to uncooked pie crust leveling out the apples. Add the topping covering the entire top of the apple mixture, covering the apples to the edge of the crust.
  4. Bake for about 1 hour and 20 minutes or until browned and bubbly.
  5. Note.....you are only going to use 1 pie crust, which is for the bottom of the pie. Also remember to spray your pie plate with cooking spray.
