I was going through my Granny's old recipe box and found this recipe. I haven't made it, but it will be on the table in the very near future.

  • ·
    2 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • ·
    3 tablespoons flour
  • ·
    3/4 cups butter
  • ·
    1 cup milk or cream
  • ·
    3 egg yolks
  • ·
    3 egg whites
  • ·
    vanilla to taste
  • ·
    1 unbaked pie shell

How to Make Kentucky Pudding


  1. Mix sugar and flour together.
  2. Add egg yolks and milk.
  3. Whisk till blended together. (I added this step; no instructions were given).
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in the mixture.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Bake in an uncooked pie shell in a moderate oven about 45 minutes.(This is 350 degrees.)
