I have never been to the Kentucky Derby nor do I know anything about it, but I have had this recipe for a very long time. It is an awesome pie.Melted chocolate chips and walnuts with a light crust on top. Please try it sometime.The picture doesn't justify the taste! I like mine slightly warm.

stick butter,melted and cooled

english walnuts

chocolate chips
1 tsp
unbaked pastry for 9 inch, 1 crust pie

How to Make Kentucky Derby Pie


  • 1Preheat oven to 350 F.
    Mix the sugar and flour. Add the beaten eggs, the the melted, cooled butter. add Walnuts, chocolate chips and vanilla.
  • 2Pour into pie shell and bake 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean.
