My sister made a delicious Buttermilk Pie. She has long passed, however, her pie will live on.

Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, room temperature
- 3 3/4 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 6 - eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 - unbaked pie shell
How To Make karen's buttermilk pie

Step 1Combine sugar and butter until well blended. Add the eggs and mix well.

Step 2Add the flour and salt and blend.

Step 3Add buttermilk and the vanilla and stir until well mixed.

Step 4Pour into 9 inch or larger pie shells and bake at 350 degrees until the pie no longer jiggles in the middle. I bake mine for 45 minutes, however, depending on your oven it may take up to 30 minutes longer.

Step 5Cool before cutting. Note: This can be made with a mixer and is also easy to do without one.
