Kahlua (Chocolate) Pecan Pie

Another of my personal favorites my family always asks me to make.

You can add semi-sweet chocolate chips if you would like a bit of a chocolate flavor.

  • 1
    9" pie shell, unbaked
  • 1/4 c
    butter, unsalted
  • 3/4 c
    dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 3
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2 c
    corn syrup, dark
  • 3/4 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 1/4 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 2 oz
    unsweetened baking chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt (optional)

How to Make Kahlua (Chocolate) Pecan Pie


  1. If using chocolate, melt in double boiler.
  2. Cream butter, sugar, vanilla and flour until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in Kahlua, corn syrup, cream, and pecans. (Add chocolate at this stage). Mix well and pour into crust.
  5. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat to 325° and bake for 40 minutes more, until center is firm.
  7. Cool completely and decorate with chocolate drizzle and whipped cream.
