My parents had a fish fry yesterday 4/20/13 & I wanted to make a dessert for them, so I decided on something with apples that my Dad would love. Of course, this recipe ended up being perfect for the occasion. Everyone loved it and it was super simple to make.
I did make this in my Ninja; however, I am sure it can be cooked in the oven too.

Recipe from my Ninja Cookbook with a few alterations of my own.

How to Make Impossible French Apple Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook up in Ninja or oven.
  2. Stir your apples, sugar & cinnamon in a bowl. Spray the multi purpose pan (7 by 9 1/2 inches) with cooking spray and pour in the apples. Evenly distribute them in pan.
  3. Batter mixture: Stir 2/3 cup of baking mix, milk, Frangelico & beaten eggs into a bowl and then pour over the apples.
  4. Now for the walnut streusel topping: Stir butter, brown sugar, remaining baking mix & chopped walnuts into bowl. Spoon or crumble over the batter mixture. Sprinkle the remaining 2 tsp of cinnamon over the top.
  5. Place roasting rack into pot & place your multi-purpose pan down inside. Set OVEN to 400 degrees for 55 minutes, cover and cook until the top springs back when lightly touched.
  6. Remove pan from Ninja and set on rack to cool. Cut while still warm and serve with some French vanilla ice cream for a real yummy treat.
