This is an awesome dark chocolate pie, from what I understand originated out of a magazine that my Mother or Grandmother found- they always used this recipe when I was growing up. The filling makes a great pudding on days when your not in the mood for making Crisco original recipe crust. I hope you like it, too !!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chocolate powder
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups milk

How To Make hershey's snow ghost chocolate pie

  • Step 1
Place chocolate powder, white sugar, cornstarch and salt in a large cooking pot. {I use one that I make soup in.} Stir in a little milk and then stir the dry mixture, stir and add milk until the chocolate sugar mixture is wet add the remainder of milk stir.
  • Step 2
I find that mixing it like this helps keep down the dry lumpy, floaty things that can be a challenge otherwise to get mixed in < If they still sneak in I pour this into the blender and run it for a minute, then pour back into your cooking pot an continue.
  • Step 3
*** Stir constantly *** cooking over a medium heat until thick and bubbly. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat, Add butter and vanilla. Stir. Pour into pre-baked pie crust. Cool and Serve with Whipped Cream .
  • Step 4
Sometimes Mother would make the filling an pour it up in small bowls and serve it as pudding. I hope you all like this I think it's the only Chocolate Pie recipe that I've ever made an I figure it will be the only one as most other's I see are not Chocolate enough for my taste !! Enjoy~
