My Grandfather's favorite pie. It's rich, and decadent ... if you like butterscotch this will be one of your favorite desserts!

Ingredients

  • 1
    graham cracker pie crust
  • 2 can(s)
    14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 pt
    real heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar

How to Make Granny's Carmel Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. In a medium sauce pan place the cans of sweetened condensed milk with the label removed. Add water to cover the can. Heat to boiling the reduce heat to medium/low for 4 to 5 hours checking often and adding water to keep can covered.
  2. Turn off heat and let cool. Pour into pie crust and refrigerate 3 hours.
  3. For topping:

    In a mixer beat whipping cream on high until soft peaks form. Slowly add sugar and vanilla and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.

    To serve:

    Slice and add a heaping spoonful of cream and dig in!
