This is the "best apple pie recipe in the world", according to my family. Our dear family friend Lil gave me this recipe, and I have been making it with wonderful results for years! Hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.

Ingredients
- 1 - 9-inch unbaked pie crust
- 2 cups medium sized granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 - eggs, beaten
- 3/4 cup shredded longhorn cheddar cheese
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 4 tablespoons butter

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Step 2Cream sugar and butter. Add sour cream, flour, salt,vanilla and eggs.

Step 3Stir in sliced apples and cheese. Pour into pie shell.

Step 4Bake for 30 minutes.

Step 5While pie is baking, mix ingredients for crumb topping until crumbly: 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 4 tablespoons butter.

Step 6Remove pie from oven. Sprinkle crumb toppping over pie and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool pie completely before serving. Refrigerate any left overs.
