I got this recipe probably 40 years ago. It was on the German Chocolate wrapper I believe. I save it for holidays. It’s very rich so a small piece will be perfect. Who doesn’t love chocolate?

Ingredients For german sweet chocolate pie

1/3 ccoconut, shredded

1/3 cchopped pecans

1/3 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1/3 cbutter
-
1 pkg6 serving chocolate pudding mix

1 pkgbakers german sweet chocolate, broken in pcs

2 cmilk
-
1 cwhip cream
-
1lightly baked 9” pie shell
How To Make german sweet chocolate pie

1Heat coconut, pecans, brown sugar, & butter. Stir to dissolve sugar. Spread in pie shell, bake at 450 for 5 minutes until bubbly and crust is golden. Cool.

2In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients EXCEPT whip cream. Cook pudding as directed for pie on pkg. Cool for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3Pour into pie shell. Cover surface with plastic wrap. Chill at least 4 hours. To serve, garnish with whip cream and grated chocolate.
