german sweet chocolate pie
I got this recipe probably 40 years ago. It was on the German Chocolate wrapper I believe. I save it for holidays. It’s very rich so a small piece will be perfect. Who doesn’t love chocolate?

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup coconut, shredded
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 package 6 serving chocolate pudding mix
- 1 package bakers german sweet chocolate, broken in pcs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup whip cream
- 1 - lightly baked 9” pie shell
How To Make german sweet chocolate pie

Step 1Heat coconut, pecans, brown sugar, & butter. Stir to dissolve sugar. Spread in pie shell, bake at 450 for 5 minutes until bubbly and crust is golden. Cool.

Step 2In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients EXCEPT whip cream. Cook pudding as directed for pie on pkg. Cool for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3Pour into pie shell. Cover surface with plastic wrap. Chill at least 4 hours. To serve, garnish with whip cream and grated chocolate.
