Ingredients

4 oz
bakers german sweet chocolate
1/4 c
butter
1 2/3 c
pet evaporated milk
3 Tbsp
cornstarch
1 1/2 c
sugar
1/8 tsp
salt
2
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla
1 1/2 c
flaked coconut
1/2 c
pecans, chopped
1
unbaked pie shell

How to Make German Chocolate Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • 2Melt Chocolate and Butter together
  • 3Gradually blend in pet milk, set aside.
  • 4Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt together.
  • 5Beat in eggs and vanilla
  • 6Gradually blend Chocolate mixture to sugar mixture.
  • 7Stir in Pecans and Coconut
  • 8Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  • 9Bake at 375 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes, until puffed and brown.
  • 10Filling will be soft but will set while cooling.
