I made a master copy of a Head Start recipe book for a fundraiser for the local Head Start program, and this one came from a neighbor up the street. Her son made this pie with his Grandma Marie (her mom) and was so excited to share it with me! A big thanks to Jeffrey K!

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa
  • pinch
    salt
  • 2/3 c
    milk
  • 2
    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3 Tbsp
    margarine
  • 3/4 c
    coconut
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/3 c
    chopped nuts
  • ·
    9" unbaked pie crust

How to Make German Chocolate Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine 1st 5 ingredients in mixing bowl. Mix well, add remaining ingredients and pour into pie shell. Bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees or until set.
