froggman's - old fashion pecan pie

Found this recipe at an old house in Ennis, TX. in 1990; I'm glad I wrote it down then, due to my having accident (in 93) that affected my memory = Head Injury. The original recipe called for "Oleo" aka Margarine. I also like to pick my own Pecans, at a Pecan grove a few miles from home...

1/4 c1/4 cup shortening

1 csugar

1 call purpose flour

3 lgegg's beaten

1/4 cwhole wheat flour

1/2 tsplemon juice

1/8 tspsalt

1/8 tspsalt

6 Tbspice water
-
1 cdark corn syrup
-
1 stickmargarine
-
1 tsppure vanilla extract

1 1/2 cpecans
How To Make froggman's - old fashion pecan pie

1Cut shortening into mixture of both flours and 1/8 teaspoon salt in bowl until crumbly. Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring until mixture forms ball. Roll on floured surface; fit into pie plate, trimming edge.

2Heat butter in saucepan until golden brown. Combine remaining ingredients in bowl, mixing well. Stir in butter. Pour into pie shell, bake at 450 degrees F. for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 325 degrees F. Bake for 40 minutes longer. Makes 6 servings

3If no Dark Corn syrup, then use light corn syrup with a cup of packed Dark Brown Sugar (Skip the regular sugar.)
