fresh strawberry pie
I got this recipe from my mother a long time ago. It's so easy to make and always gets rave reviews. The recipe makes two pies! One for you and one for a friend...maybe. It's so good you might want both!

Each pie serves 6-8
Ingredients
- 2 - baked pie shell
- 2-1/2 -3 pound fresh strawberries
- COMBINE THE FOLLOWING IN A SAUCEPAN
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- ADD
- 2 cups cold water
- 2 tablespoons white corn syrup
How To Make fresh strawberry pie

Step 1Bring the sugar, cornstarch, salt, water and corn syrup to a boil and then cook over medium heat until thick and clear. (6-8 minutes)

Step 2Remove from heat and add 1 pkg. strawberry gelatin. Mix thoroghtly. Cool.

Step 3For each pie slice several strawberries into thirds and line the bottom of each pie crust with a layer of sliced strawberries.

Step 4Cover the sliced strawberries with a layer of whole strawberries.

Step 5Pour the gelatin mixture over the strawberries to cover.

Step 6Refrigerate for several hours or until set.
