Ingredients

  • - pie crust, homemade or store bought whichever you prefer
  • FILLING
  • 1 cup granulated sugar*
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 3/4 cup egg beaters
  • TOPPING
  • 3/4 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • - chocolate curls

How To Make french silk pie

  • Step 1
Mold pie pastry into your pie plate. Don't forget to prick bottom and sides with fork. Bake in a preheated 475º oven till light brown. Approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Cool completely.
  • Step 2
In mixing bowl, beat granulated sugar and butter on medium speed till light and fluffy. Continue beating and add vanilla and melted chocolate.
  • Step 3
Slowly add egg beaters. Continue beating for another 3 to 4 minutes. Pour into the pie crust. Needs to set in fridge for at least 2 to 3 hours.
  • Step 4
Topping Beat the whipping cream and the powdered sugar and vanilla together on high speed till stiff peaks. Used to top pie with and can also add chocolate curls if you like.
  • Step 5
    * Tip To make your regular granulated sugar super fine, put it into your food processor and let it go on high for a few minutes. Will dissolve better in recipe and helps eliminate graininess.
