This old timer is a Food Section classic from the L.A. Times. It goes back to its’ first printing in 1965. It’s a moist and fudgy brownie in the shape of a pie.

2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup flour
3 to 4 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
dash salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
whipped cream or ice cream

How to Make Four Minute Brownie Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Put eggs, sugar, butter, flour, cocoa, vanilla, and salt in small mixer bowl. Beat 4 minutes. Stir in nuts and pour into greased 8 inch pie pan.
  • 2Bake at 325 for 30 minutes or til done. Pie will settle like a meringue when cool. Cut in wedges and serve with whipped cream. Serves 8
