I made up this for my daughter Flora who lives for chocolate chip cookies, and doesn't particularly like other pies on Thanksgiving, where that is everyone else in my family's first choice. Flora AND everyone else are CRAZY about it.
1Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Prepare pie crust and do not prick. Refrigerate, covered and unbaked while preparing filling.
2In a large bowl, beat eggs and vanilla extract until foamy. Add flour, sugar and brown sugar; beat for 4 minutes, with an electric beater on low speed. Slowly pour in the cooled butter, beating until well-blended. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
3Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake for 1 hour, or when knife inserted in center of pie comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, or unsweetened whipped cream, if desired. Yield: 8 servings.
