Our church had Homecoming this morning and a good friend of mine made this as a dessert. It sure was good and I promptly asked for the recipe. Here it is.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 2/3 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 c
    cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
  • 2 large
    eggs
  • 1/4 c
    light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • Pinch
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine
  • 3/4 c
    evaporated milk
  • 1
    9 inch pie shell

How to Make Faye's Southern Sweet Potato Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and sugar. Add potatoes, eggs, corn syrup, nutmeg, salt, butter and evaporated milk; beat well. Pour into pastry shell. Bake 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes.
