I love making my pumpkin pies with fresh, cooked pumpkin, but you can also cook and freeze your pumpkin ahead of time.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
cooked pumpkin
1 c
packed, light brown sugar
1 tsp
cinnamon, ground
1 tsp
ginger
1/2 tsp
nutmeg
1/4 tsp
allspice, ground
2 Tbsp
molasses
1/2 tsp
salt
3
eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 c
milk, whole
1/2 c
heavy cream
1
9 inch, unbaked pie shell

How to Make Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • 2Combine together cooked pumpkin, light brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, molasses and salt and mix well.
  • 3Mix the lightly beaten eggs, milk and cream together. Add to the pumpkin mixture, stirring well.
  • 4Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell and bake at 425 degrees F. for 15 minutes, then lower temperature to 375 degrees F. and bake for 40 - 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
