ellen's chocolate cheese pie
A very old recipe from my files. Haven't made this in years. And if you're one of those people (like me) who doesn't enjoy making pie crust, guess what? This pie has no crust! How great is that?

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 packages (8 oz. ea.) softened cream cheese
- 5 - eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 package (4 oz.) german sweet chocolate, melted and cooled
How To Make ellen's chocolate cheese pie

Step 1In a small bowl or measuring cup, melt the chocolate in microwave; let cool.

Step 2Set out the cream cheese to soften at room temperature.

Step 3In a large bowl, add sugar to the cream cheese, blending well.

Step 4Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Add vanilla.

Step 5Measure 2 Cups of cheese mixture in a separate bowl and fold in chocolate.

Step 6Add lemon juice to remaining cheese mixture and pour into well-buttered 10-inch pie pan. Top with the chocolate mixture.

Step 7Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool on wire rack and then chill.

Step 8May garnish with whipped topping and chocolate curls.
