ella's pecan pie
My mother got this recipe from her friend, Ella, many years ago when I was a child. We have always used this recipe for a pecan pie that is just right and not overly sweet. You'll want seconds!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 - eggs, well beaten
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup karo light corn syrup
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
- 1 - 9-inch pie shell (uncooked - i use pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts)
How To Make ella's pecan pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light.

Step 2Add eggs, then flour, salt, vanilla, corn syrup, and pecans. Mix well by hand.

Step 3Pour into pie shell and bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake for 30 minutes. Cool completely before serving.
