This is a cherished recipe handed down from my grandmother Welch.

Ingredients For egg pie (old fashioned)

3 lgeggs, beaten

1/4 cbutter, melted

1 csugar
-
2 Tbspflour
-
1 cmilk
-
1 tspvanilla
-
1/2 tspground nutmeg

19-inch pie crust
How To Make egg pie (old fashioned)

1Prebake pie shell at 400 degrees for 5 minutes; set aside.

2Combine butter, sugar, flour, milk, vanilla and nutmeg.

3Add beaten eggs and mix well.

4Cook on stove constantly until thickened.

5Pour filling into prebaked pie crust. Sprinkle top with a little nutmeg. Bake at 325 degrees for 45-55 minutes. (Don't overcook)
